Any minute now, the Hunt Club will announce the executive chef search they’re calling “The Hunt.”
Think Top Chef, where the winner walks away with the coveted post heading up the kitchen of the once-noble Hunt Club, the cozy Fireside Lounge (where I stopped in for a drink the other night and was wowed by the smokin’ live jazz), and the Sorrento Hotel’s room service.
This April, contestants will write essays and pris-fixe menus to qualify for cook-off competition events. Here’s what the Sorrento is looking for:
“This opportunity is the perfect niche for an inventive chef who has previous experience managing a full-service restaurant and a philosophy that success in the kitchen is driven by education and creativity. You must be a self-starter, ambitious, and confident in your skill. Standard job requirements such as menu cost analysis, labor scheduling, and creative recipes required to enter this level.”
Final rounds of competition will take place April 21-28. Contestants must be available for press from April 13-30, 2009. Just submit biography and picture along with resumé, salary history, and food philosophy to email@example.com by Friday, April 3, 2009.
You’ve got two weeks now, bucko. Get cookin’.
