Chef Jake Martin is no longer in the kitchen at Ethan Stowell’s Queen Anne restaurant How to Cook a Wolf. Stowell confirmed his departure, praising Martin’s cooking skills, but saying only, “I don’t think it was a good fit for either party.”
The new head of the kitchen is an “in-house person,” says Stowell, but he declined to share details until the new chef has a chance to settle in (he adopted a similar approach when Zach Chambers took over Anchovies and Olives after Charles Walpole departed to open his own place).
Martin originally worked with Stowell back at his first restaurant, Union, which closed in 2010. He returned to Seattle from Portland in January to take the job at How to Cook a Wolf.
