Downtown’s Nordstrom Rack is moving to its new Westlake Center location and you won’t want to miss the opening day festivities.

WHERE: Nordstrom Rack’s brand new downtown location at Westlake Center
WHAT: After over twenty years at its Second Ave and Pine site, the Rack is moving in next door to its big sister flagship store. As a sort of housewarming, the designer clearance mecca is holding a morning of festivities that includes complimentary breakfast, live entertainment, and plenty of freebies.
For starters, the first thousand people to make a purchase will receive a free Nordstrom Rack tote. For those who prefer the stakes a little higher: twenty emerald green hangers will be hidden around the store; find one and trade it in for $100 worth of merchandise (follow the Rack on Twitter for clues—and, this is just our own hint for general use: news of new designer drops). What’s more: one very lucky shopper will win a chance to race through the new space on a 90-second, $2,000 shopping spree à la Supermarket Sweep.
The new Rack will have over 2,600 handbags, a stand-alone flower shop, on-site alterations, and—our favorite part—they nixed the former store’s shoe mate window so now you’ll be able to try on both shoes without waiting in line.
WHEN: Opening day festivities start at 7a on March 15. Regular store hours will be Mon–Sat 9:30–9 and Sun 10–7.
