The huge, 400 piece collection, which includes housewares, shoes and rain boots, baby clothes, and of course, knitwear, debuted nationwide this morning. Target associates in West Seattle and Northgate told us that all stores in the country will have the Missoni pieces for a limited time (and, one assumes, in limited quantities).
Check the slideshow here for a peak at a few key looks, then take a minute to let us know if you were one of the early birds—and what’s left after opening morning at the Target closest to you.

I want one of everything. Literally. I don’t even have a child and I’m ten seconds away from purchasing the baby clothes. There is something so fun about all these designer lines for places like Target and H&M. Just by looking at the various items for sale you can tell that the designer had a blast playing around with a new target demographic (pun intended) BadumpCHH
I just saw on Twitter that Missoni at the Northgate Tartget is sold out.
I went to Target’s Lynnwood location & there was about 15 of us in line before it opened. Other women in line said there were 50+ at the Northgate one. Lynnwood had a decent selection left and they were restrocking too.
Got to Northgae at 8:15 and everything was already off the shelves in carts that were pouring over with multicolored zig-zagged clothing, housewares, linens, lingerie, shoes and even bicycles… women then began bartering with what was in their carts. Some shopped on their ipads with one hand remaining on their cart at all times, then announcing feverishly “the site is up again!!” Other women traded, swapped, relinquished items, circled around waiting for items to be released. The power dynamics were stunning and the whole scene was framed by Target employees smiling and shaking their heads. In the end I walked away with some cool tights, a couple of plastic cups for BBQ nights and a pair of ballet flats that I can honestly say is my first pair of shoes from Target ever. I got into the car with my bags, looked at my friend and sighed “I feel dirty.” We both agreed… the ride home was the American materialists’ ride of shame. The flats are pretty good though, seriously.
Love it, thanks gals. The only capsule collection I’ve gotten up early for was Lanvin x H&M, and we were outside the downtown shop at 6a.m. in DECEMBER. There’s something so bizarre and awesome about that kind of shopping. I can’t help but hope that it illuminates how incredibly effortless and easy most shopping is. Waiting for a restock at the Northgate Target is definitely a First World problem, right? ;-)
My friend called me at work at about 11 from Northgate -
Friend: “What is going on this morning at Target, it’s a mutherfreakin madhouse?”
Me: “The Missoni for Target line dropped this morning, limited time, limited quantities.”
Friend: “I KNEW you would know.”
Le sigh …
yeah it’s funny to think of some dude just out on his regular errands, trying to pick up some paper towels and running into this …
Quite a marketing ploy. Take it from boomers; you’ll be sick of it by Xmas. Eeww!
Love it, Riverbluff. A certain friend of mine lamented her purchase of Missoni post-it notes. Le sigh.
Hope everyone saw this: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/14/business/demand-at-target-for-fashion-line-crashes-web-site.html
behold the power (??!!) of the consumer!
