More stylish and sanitary than the average corner nail shop and less expensive and intimidating than the posh salons that often seem like too much of a commitment when a fresh coat of color is all that’s called for is Mimisan, Queen Anne’s new natural nail spa.
Like you, I was bummed when the Westlake outpost of Butter London shuttered its baroque-styled doors. Sure, we can still pick up a bottle of their polish here and there around town, but there are times when a girl, or a guy, wants a professional to handle the job. Though Mimisan doesn’t have their own line of colors, owner Thuy Huynh brings in three-free lacquers from Color Club and may switch to a line called Jessica.
Bottom line: You can, once again, get inexpensive, easy-in/ easy-out, gorgeously colored fume-free fingers and toes in Seattle.
Add to that: in an ultra-clean, fresh, stylish setting. Eames loungers, cork flooring, and a great soundtrack (kitschy Lee Hazelwood follows mellow indie rock; the perfect antidote for soundtrack-free, personality-less corner salons and the rainforest dribble of certain salons) make Mimisan a fuss-free urban oasis.
For more on our favorite Seattle spas, check out the recent feature, Feel Good Now and the male-centric Body Shops. It’s cool, we know dudes need pampering, too.

Oooh, I’ll have to try this out. Love the fume-free, the lovely enviro and prices look good.
Nice addition to the neighborhood: Haute Yoga just showed up at the top of the hill too.
