Just Landed: Marimekko x Converse at Pirkko
The must-have, in-demand high-tops of summer aren’t hard to get if you find yourself at Pike Place Market.
SLIDESHOW: Marimekko x Converse at Pirkko. These even come with a dust bag. Fancy!

Marimekko, the Finnish fashion and lifestyle brand that continues to look fresh and ageless decade after decade, recently turned 70.
Among the line’s celebratory collaborations is a capsule collection with … who else? Converse.
The sneakers are a hot commodity of course—sneakers themselves being so infinitely collectible and covetable, especially when there’s a limited number circulating a rapid, fashion-hungry globe. The high-tops and Jack Purcell low-tops are hard to get—unless you live in Seattle that is.
Pirkko, the Swede specialists near Pike Place Market, have them on their shelves. I was told they’re getting orders from Australia and beyond, so if you’re in the uh, market, for a pair yourself, better head there in person sometime soon.
We’ve got a couple styles in the slideshow here; for more, check the Pirkko site.

Jason Stratton, the chef at Spinasse and Artusi, could totally rock those Jack Purcells.
I love Marimekko.
Correction please, Pirkko is a Finnish specialty store. Marimekko is from Finland!
We are a country of 5 mil. and I love to make sure we don’t get mixed up with any other country.
