Guesthouse is one of Madrona’s newest neighbors. Owner Kate Link has created a classically Seattle mix of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, smartly sourced decor and design texts, hand-built furniture, and warm, gorgeously colored accent pieces. But it’s the textile library in the back that neighbors flock to. Since LInk’s background is in fabrics, coverings, treatments, and the like, she’s amassed samples from all the best purveyors and can talk pillows and reupholstering with style and grace.

Across the street at Driftwood Consignment you’ll find gently used high style pieces from some of the most fashionable women in Seattle.

Nena is also new to the neighborhood.

The store specializes in good times and fun treasures that don’t break the bank.

Rebuilt vintage jewelry is also a house specialty at Nena.

Also at Nena, antiques and one-of-a-kind vintage. If you’re getting a jump on Father’s Day gifts, you might consider this old school shoe shine kit.

Glassybaby world HQ is also nearby.

The great thing about doing your Glassybaby shopping in Madrona is that you can see the glass artisans at work.

Do we need to say it? Mother’s Day approaches …

Around the corner from Nena, you’ll find Dominique bags hanging on the wall at Juniper.

Juniper is a womens boutique that manages to find room to offer some pretty sweet little surprises like these felt tortoises.

The look at Juniper is organic, easy, and modern.

Another surprise: Kittens. Juniper serves as a halfway house for cats in need of a home. We’ve heard that this little guy has probably been adopted by now, but owner Lisa Clinton almost always has someone to love in store.

Ready to check out Destination: Madrona and get to know Kate Link at Guesthouse? While you’re in the neighborhood, you’ll want to avail yourself of some other shopportunities.

Check out the slideshow here for a look at what we love near the intersection of Union and 34th Street.

Restaurants while you’re there? Sure, our food folks have plenty to say when it comes to Madrona’s eateries.

Oh and here’s a reason to hold off a bit longer: Molly Moon’s micro-shop, soon to be scooping right next door to Hitchcock, is set to open on May 10.
