In the Know
Here’s how to be sure you never miss the party
Slideshow: The Luxe Wedding Design party at Georgetown Ballroom
View Slideshow »This was no regular party. This party had aerialists from Enjoy Productions (en-joyproductions.com)
View Slideshow »En-joy’s Kevin Joyce (right) and the one and only Pastor Kaleb (left) MC’ed the afternoon’s events with flair and style. Joyce was a principal performer and director with Teatro Zinzanni before he started En-joy with his wife, aerialista Martha Enson. Their crew of singers, dancers, comedians, aerialists, auctioneers, and assorted characters (the list goes on) brought an unmatched dynamic element to the party. Yes, they can bring that element to your party, too, and the, um, Pastor, is ready to do right by your vows as well.
View Slideshow »And this is the master partier, the fantastic Annette Lefebvre from Luxe Wedding Design, appearing in Lifework Image’s Party Booth. Hard to say whether it’s Annette’s background in theater, her generous and kind outlook, or her immense creativity and love of gorgeous things that makes her events so one-of-a-kind.
View Slideshow »If anything beats a photobooth, it’s a partybooth. Here: SMBG advertising director Dixie Duncan and me (and a giant version of our current cover that we take with us everywhere we go).
View Slideshow »The afternoon’s music was a mix of moody French ballads and timeless swing. Here: The Blue 4 Trio color the Ballroom with their jump and jive
View Slideshow »Annabella Kirby performs with Lushy
View Slideshow »The Haggis Brothers got down outside, on the Ballroom’s just plain wonderful back patio
View Slideshow »Veraci pizza also set up shop on the back patio
View Slideshow »Mobile food vendors are one of my favorite reception trends. Here: paella (it was ammmmmmazing) from Azafron Paella Catering
View Slideshow »Inside, more gorgeous food. Here: Truly Events and Catering
View Slideshow »Bellingham’s Ciao Thyme Catering set up a gorgeous spread
View Slideshow »These beautiful bites were by Gourmondo Catering
View Slideshow »The custom cocktails, and the crew, were from Hazelwood in Ballard
View Slideshow »Vendors like letterpress artisan Bremelo Press displayed their goods
View Slideshow »Bremelo’s Lynda Sherman creates modern, stylish paper using old-world methods
View Slideshow »These parties are all about discovering talent; I was beyond delighted to make the acquaintance of Suzanne Rosellini of Rosellini Sweets
View Slideshow »Suzanne and a similarly delighted friend in the party booth
View Slideshow »Chocolates and other sweet treats from Cocoa Chai
View Slideshow »Miki Maxey of Miki’s Flowers made Georgetown Ballroom’s already dreamy, evocative, and very special rooms even more beautiful

There’s nothing worse than hearing about a great time and knowing that you could’ve, should’ve, would’ve been there if you had known.
Launching next week: Shop Talk, my wedding and style newsletter. With it in your inbox every week, you’ll never miss another grand affair again.
Now, I do hate to have to make this point so beautifully and brutally, but today’s slideshow takes you through the recent Luxe Wedding Design artisan party at the fabulous Georgetown Ballroom and illustrates exactly why you need to know about these events.
To soften the blow, I want to clue you into another soiree. On Thursday, February 25, you’re invited to the Pan Pacific Hotel to mingle with wedding pros like Pink Blossom Events, photographer Barbie Hull, Aria Style, Bamboo Beats, Bella Cupcake Couture, Edit 1 Media, and La Belle Elaine’s Bridal.
From 5:30 to 8:30, you’ll enjoy cocktails, appetizers, and a semi-private audience with some of Seattle’s favorite event vendors. With all these folks in one gorgeous ceremony and reception venue, you can ask about their services, their experience, their inspiration, and their newest ideas without having to book appointments and run here and there to do so.
It’s free, it’ll be fun, and it’s an extremely efficient way to “shop” for your wedding team. These boutique wedding shows and curated events are the industry’s fresh, hip, innovative alternative to bigger shows that can sometimes be overwhelming and impersonal. And you know what else? All these folks in the business of throwing parties, well, they like to party, too.
So join them - us - for an evening of getting things done while having a really nice time.
