Kensington Gardens, the one in Gig Harbor.

If you’ve had even a touch Wills-n-Kate fever, it’s probably full blown right about now. And if you have some sort of countdown ticker on your otherwise smart phone and/or you’ve attempted to create some kind of Facebook-based pool surrounding speculations about who made the royal dress, you’ll probably have to call in sick on Thursday and Friday. Frankly, we’re a little worried about you. Do get, um, better soon, okay?

But c’mon, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of healthy interest. It is a cultural happening, and one far more rooted in meaning than your average American celebrity paparazzi-fest.

Depending on your level of obsession, you may be wondering how you might approximate the London affair when it’s your turn. Wellllllll…. Kensington Gardens in Gig Harbor would be glad you asked.

Owner Kelly Watson and her husband Mark designed their 23-acre property around the architecture and design details of the other Kensington, so they’re going to be pretty sympathetic to the whole Anglophile thing. Not only that, they designed an event package around it. Contact the venue if you want to hear more about an authentic fruitcake, a horse-drawn carriage, and royal tunes.

UPDATE Turns out King 5 News will host their royal wedding episode from Kensington Gardens, so tune in on Friday, April 29 at 7p if you’re interested in checking it out.
