Apropos of Nothing
I’m head over heels for Chloe A/W 09
I’ve tried to stop thinking about Hannah MacGibbon’s first collection for Chloe but I can’t. I’ve tried. I’ve tried thinking of, say, all the features and sidebars and blurbs and essays in my editing queue, and I’ve tried thinking about what’s for dinner and what kind of snack to bring to my nephew’s birthday party on Saturday. I’ve tried thinking about kittens and baby ducks. Nothing works.
So let’s just let me get this off my chest.
I’m head over heels in love with these paper bag waists and sandy, neutral tones and rich velvets and giant baggy pant legs and thigh-high black boots and the blanket coats and the flats and all that volume in white white white. Yes, it’s very 1982. Yep, it goes from ’70s YSL to Americana Ralph Lauren without missing a beat. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Okay, thanks. I feel better now.
I know Mario’s and Nordstrom typically pick up some great pieces from each Chloe collection … I’m now officially looking forward to next July or so, to see what they bring in.

Girl, I see why you needed to get that off your chest! That outfit is Badd A$$!!! It’s so right up my alley. Hmmm, I’m feeling inspired!
the clothes are stunning and i love them. it’s no wonder little ducky counts couldn’t take your mind away. but what i want to know is, why do the models always look so angry or sad? they are wearing some of the best stuff made for a human body. shouldn’t they have smiles?
Dear The Say:
yeah, I’ll say.
it’s kind of an age old question, and one that goes hand in hand with the one that asks why these girls have to be so darn scrawny——-and, for the most part, so darn white.
