Look for the pink poster at participating specialty shops and wedding vendors in downtown Bellevue next week, and find specials, deals, and expert advice inside

You’ve noticed that it’s not just bars and restaurants that throw happy hours these days, but here’s a new one for brides- and grooms-to-be: A wedding pub crawl.

Well, sort of. Okay not really. But close enough.

During the week of June 14 – June 20, between Christina Lynn Table Top and Home and Julep on Bellevue Way and City Flowers and Yuen Lui on NE 8th Street, seekers of gorgeous bridal gowns, stylish registry items, delicious cupcakes, wow-factor flowers, fine stationery, and more will be traversing the landscape looking not for pints of beer, but the pink sign shown here as well as top-rate wedding advice and great deals.

Bellevue’s Bridal Walk Week links the above mentioned vendors with Mr. J’s Culinary Kitchen, Obadiah Salon, Silberman Brown, Trophy Cupcakes, and Voletta Couture – and, this part is important, you.

Participating stores will be offering specials, incentives, and other good stuff – including, on Wednesday June 16, cake and champagne.

Confusing. The concept and idea needs some work. Is this an event or just a group of retailers having their usual specials/discounts?

By Laura on Jun 15, 2010 at 10:21AM

Curious as to what’s confusing you, Jamie. The above-mentioned downtown Bellevue vendors have united to offer good deals and advice this week. (Not unlike a bunch of bars linking themselves to offer cheap beer.) It’s about community, keeping-it-in-the-neighborhood, and reaching out to couples. Perhaps it was I who made things confusing – the Bridal Walk concept really couldn’t be more simple. Let me know how I can clear things up.

DOes this run a certain time of day or all day during normal biz hours? Also sound like there is some special Wednesday…what time is the cake & champagne…that’s important! :) Is there site I can go to for more info?

By laura on Jun 15, 2010 at 11:34AM

Okay ladies, please see the link in the next-to-last graph above; orange-highlighted text spelling out Bellevue’s Bridal Walk Week takes you to a post on Christina Lynn’s blog where a bit more information is given but let’s not make this too difficult, huh?

Hi Laura,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I do appreicate it, though I can tell it annoys you that I asked. Sorry I missed the hyperlink (I did look, albeit quickly). I do have to say however that your tone is offputting. I am newly engagned and was excited about this event, but you managed to make me feel like an idiot for asking a question (even if I did miss the link a polite “link is above” would have sufficed) and have tainted the event for me. I know that bloggers are not in the service industry, but you might think of your readers as clients and have a bit more of a customer service attitude in mind when responding. Just my humble opinion…

Amanda, you’ve totally misread my tone here – it certainly didn’t annoy me that you asked, and I certainly didn’t intend to make you feel like an idiot — that’s just … it’s just not what I do. For example, you can see above that I was attempting to give more info for the other commenter, and was happy to take on the responsibility of clarification, etc. I am terribly sorry that you misread my wink-wink nod-nod casual sign-off as something mean-spirited – and more over I’m sorry that anything about my blog would give you the impression that that’s what I’m about. Actually, I do consider myself to be in the service industry – I’m here to pass on great info, pure and simple, and I do it as often and as thoroughly as I possibly can. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

What time does this event start and end daily?

By Laura on Jun 17, 2010 at 2:21PM

Hi Gina, I’m glad there is so much interest around this – it’s curious that there is also so much confusion! I’m sorry that that’s the case. The shops are open for business as usual – the Bridal Walk takes place during normal business hours.

Ok, great, thanks! Sounds exciting- I have two girlfriends getting married this year, so this should be fun!

One more thing: So long as were on Bellevue Way and NE 8th area, we should be good, right? Not from the area but familiar.

By laura on Jun 17, 2010 at 3:11PM

All the vendors listed in the post are within the downtown Bellevue area, along Bellevue Way and NE 8th Street. You’ll want to check with each stop for a specific location before you head out and make sure that my definition (and that of the organizer’s) of “walking distance” fits yours. have fun!
