Hunt Club Names New Chef

Grilled cheese, anyone?

Email

The Hunt Club just named Matthew Mina its exec chef, after an Iron Chef-style search conducted before a panel of judges and Hunt Club Diners.

The Bellevue native and CIA graduate has been a pastry chef at Napa’s exquisite Auberge de Soleil and, most recently, exec sous chef/pastry chef at San Francisco’s Bong Su.

He wowed the judges with his dedication to sustainable ingredients and his breadth of creativity, which during the competition ranged from an elaborate espresso caviar dish to a reportedly killer grilled cheese sandwich. He beat out chefs from Opal, Sapphire, and the Hunt Club itself to snag the top toque, which he dons May 11.
