A gin-based drink with just a hint of anise (thanks to a few drops of absinthe), the Corpse Reviver #2 is something of a poster child for the classic cocktail revival. It’s a mixer served at many of Seattle’s best bars, including Zig Zag, Oliver’s Twist, and of course, Sun Liquor.

Gin master Erik Chapman revealed to us his own recipe for creating this tasty pre-prohibition drink, we pass it on to you, here.

1oz lillet blanc
1oz Cointreau
1oz gin (Erik prefers Plymouth)
1oz lemon juice
3 drops absinthe (or substitute pastis or Pernod)

Shake together and serve in a cocktail glass garnished with a brandied cherry.
