Thinking big: Howard Schultz takes on national politics.

Like most of us, Starbucks honcho Howard Schultz is pretty concerned that America’s elected officials are doing a very, very bad job. As such, this August he published an open letter suggesting that Americans stop contributing to campaign coffers until such time as politicians start reaching across the proverbial aisle.

And as KPLU reported Monday, Schultz published full page ads in the New York Times and USA Today urging Americans to contact their reps and insist that they put aside their party squabbles and fix our jacked-up country already! (I’m paraphrasing).

Schultz will discuss this further in an online forum today, Tuesday, September 6 at 4:30 PST. It’s hosted by No Labels, a non-partisan nonprofit that was founded in late 2010 “to address the politics of problem solving.” RSVP here.
