Three Seattle Restaurants Make OpenTable’s Most Romantic 2010
What do you think of OT’s picks?
Just saw this on Eater.com. For Valentine’s Day, Open Table listed 50 romantic restaurants around the country. In Seattle: Chez Shea, Il Bistro, and Canlis.
The two market spots are admittedly romantic, and happy hour at Il Bistro is a thing of beauty. But they’re also a little bit…how to say…past their prime. And Canlis is such a no-duh choice. If I had to pick just three romantic Valentine’s destinations where the food is also up to snuff: Crush (although it’s already booked), Spring Hill, and Spinasse.
What are your three?

I can’t stand Crush. It’s snooty, overpriced, and their food is so bland. The emperor has no epicurian flair.
Rover’s and Andaluca would be on my list!
Agree on Rover’s. Spring Hill doesn’t feel romantic to me – too stark and urban. Sitka & Spruce? La Rustica, the little Italian place on Beach Dr. in West Seattle, but it’s only for the atmosphere. What a good question! Has the romance fallen out of restaurants? Is it a trade off for good food and service.
The food is impeccable at Spring Hill, but it is far too loud in there for a romantic, intimate dining experience.
Place Pigalle and Taberna del Alabardero will excite and elevate your senses this Valentine’s Day. The service is impeccable; the atmosphere and flavors are authentic and simply delightful.
