Two Seattle Chefs Make the Top Chef Cut
Robin Leventhal (Crave) and Ashley Merriman (Branzino) will pack their knives and go…to Las Vegas.
This morning New York Magazine’s Grub Street blog released the list of cheftestants who will compete in Season Six of Bravo’s beloved “Top Chef” franchise, and two Seattle toque-wearers made the cut.
Fans of shuttered Capitol Hill breakfast spot Crave can again enjoy the culinary creations of Robin Leventhal, 43, (if only vicariously) as they watch her go up against 32 year-old Ashley Merriman of Branzino, along with chefs from Florida, Michigan, California, Pennsylvania, and, of course, New York. The culinary marathon will go down in Las Vegas.
So, which Seattle chef will you be rooting for?

I’m going with Robin. I loved the Crave concept.
Ditto. Man, I was bummed when Crave closed.
If anything, I was hoping CRAVE would expand—the long line was the only thing that kept me away from brunch there every weekend. Now I almost never have brunch on the hill. Will we ever have another breaky spot as tasty as Crave?
ROBIN!!!! I love(ed) Crave.
Robin will only last a few episodes, if that. History has shown that untrained comfort food folks don’t quite have the chops to hang with the haute cuisine big guns. Ashley will do very well. She is very talented and creative with her food. The guy from The Bazaar in LA is the one to beat.
