See how good Chef Chea’s food looks?

Chef Dalis Chea at Fresh Bistro has a knack for turning any plate into a global adventure—and a genuinely fine one at that.

So we took notice when we heard Chea is offering a lineup of early-week lures at his West Seattle bistro, beginning with Monday Night Steak. Thai-style sirloin, grilled Wagyu ribeye with Granny Smith horseradish, or Wagyu New York with lobster mushrooms and truffled fingerlings—each for under $20.

Tuesday nights a Cedar Salmon Bake from 6pm to 8pm, $16 a person.

And Wednesdays? A good old-fashioned Seafood Boil, starring scallops, clams, prawns, mussels, and crab, at $25 a pop with seasonal sides and desserts. Apple-pear crisp with caramel ice cream, anyone?

The tuna special at Fresh Bistro

Suffer through the week from hell? Put the G back in your TGIF with these heavenly dishes from some of our favorite nosh spots.

Capitol Hill’s swank yet affordable restaurant The Tin Table serves weekly rotating specials. This week it’s a beet salad with pine nuts, currants, and marinated feta cheese for $8, and an appetizer of housemade caprese rolls with mozzarella, heirloom tomato, basil pesto, and balsamic reduction, $9. Or, go Italian with rigatoni Bolognese, simmering under a classic, slow-cooked sauce made with beef, pork, and lamb, $11. For $12, try the braised rabbit with stretched pasta squares. On the high end is an $18 coriander- and fennel-dusted seared tuna, served on a chanterelle split green bean ragu.

Also on the Hill, the casual Volunteer Park Cafe will be serving up a host of specials as well. Start with bruschetta with heirloom cherry tomato, Walla Walla sweet onion, basil, and fresh mozzarella for $9; a charentais melon plate with prosciutto and blue cheese for $15; or a roasted beet salad with arugula and candied walnuts for $9. Follow that up with the cafe’s pizza special, an heirloom tomato, mozzarella, and basil pie for $14, or a dish of hand-seared scallops served over cranberry, bean, and summer vegetable succotash for $28.

Over in West Seattle, Fresh Bistro will be plating a lightly pan-seared big-eye tuna served atop sliced lemon cucumber and accompanied by a cucumber salad dressed with a lemon yuzu vinny and complemented by melon caviar, truffle honey watermelon, and soy pudding, $18.

You’ll have three long days to recover this weekend, so go ahead and spoil yourself.
