Sandwich menu at Potbelly.

On Tuesday, June 7, Potbelly Sandwich Shop opens its first Seattle store downtown at Fourth and Pike.

If you’ve never experienced Potbelly, it’s like this: people—people in the Midwest, other people on the East Coast—are obsessed with it. They’re obsessed with its sandwiches and its milk shakes, mostly. The meatball sandwich is a big draw, as is the pizza sandwich. On certain weekdays in downtown Washington, DC, I’ve seen lines of people in navy-blue suits that stretched half a city block. Those suits were waiting for Potbelly pizza sandwiches.

The opening will follow a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 am on the seventh.
