New Year’s Eve Guide: Dining Out
Savor your way out of the decade.
It’s the Big Kahuna, people…the turn of the decade. A bunch of joints are doing multi-course, prix-fixe dinners to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Some of the best of ’em:
Anchovies & Olives, with a $75, 5-course menu to include squid ink spaghetti and Stellar Bay oysters with green apple ice and fennel pollen. Three seatings; reservations taken.
Barking Frog, with a $125, 5-course menu with paired wines and champagnes. Caviar, oysters, and sous vide tenderloin are on the card.
Canlis, with 5-course ($125) and 7-course ($185) menus available, each starring beef tenderloin.
Crush, with a 5-course early seating ($125.10) with paired wines for $55 extra; and a later dinner party complete with countdown ($155.10 with wine extra). Caviar or fois gras, $25 extra.
Fresh Bistro, with early and late seatings of four-course dinners ($60, including a glass of Prosecco, with $20 more for paired wines) featuring pan-roasted duck or beef Wellington.
The Herbfarm, with a $325, 9-course feast to include all the usual resplendence along with Krug Grande Cuvee champagne, an 1834 Madeira, and opera legend Dame Jane Eaglen belting Auld Lang Syne.
How to Cook a Wolf, with a $75, 5-course menu to include mussels with fregola pasta and braised pork cheeks with chanterelles. Three seatings; reservations taken.
Joule, with 5pm and 10pm seatings of a $65 5-course dinner, wine pairings extra.
Matt’s in the Market, for a $100 5-course dinner to include Osetra caviar, sea scallops, ribeye steak, and Meyer lemon-shiso sorbet.
Melting Pot, for an $88 dinner beginning with Champagne-Swiss cheese fondue and ending with dark chocolate Chambord fondue—with two other courses in the middle.
O/8 Seafood Grill, for $75 and $105 dinner options between 4pm and 9:30pm, along with an invitation to the throwdown in the Twisted Cork Lounge next door.
Olivar, with a $60, 5-course menu to include a manchego cheese eclair, oysters and caviar, and venison.
Pomegranate Bistro, with a 5-course, $65 feast ($100 with wines) to include Maine lobster in Sauterne, stuffed quail, and braised lamb shank.
Taste Restaurant, where 3 courses will include a chevre tart and Coho salmon will be available for $49.
Tilth Restaurant, with a $90, 4-course menu (wine pairings $55 extra) which will offer razor clam chowder, braised baby octopus, and Bouche de Noel.
Union, with a 7-course menu ($95 per person) to highlight parsnip soup, seared sea scallops with sweetbreads, and chocolate terrine with bourbon ice cream.



on the menu at Tilth you mention Bouche de Noel are you talking about the dessert Buche de Noel which is a rolled sponge cake garnish with icing & meringue mushrooms?
