If you missed the sold-out Kim Ricketts event at Palace Ballroom last night—the one at which Tom Douglas interviewed Washington-raised cheflebrity Mario Batali—fear not. Seattle Met recorded the whole thing, and we’re bringing you the best bits.

To get things started, here are Tom and Mario talking veggies (warning: they get a little bawdy). Check back this week for more great Mario moments.

Love it! Looks like Batali dropped a few lbs.

He lost 45, to be exact. But Nick, please don’t expect him to be the next Jenny Craig spokesmodel (that would be weird). He said he now cuts restaurant portions in half before he starts eating.

I just taught a kids cooking class and was worried about the reception of the Veggie Cheesy Torte I was planning for them to make. Mario’s advise rings true. They made the dish and had ownership, and loved it.
