Mistralkitchen Partners with Claudio Corallo…
…to make brownies and macaroons. Can you imagine?
I’m trying to imagine the way a brownie might taste if it were made with Claudio Corallo chocolate by Neil Robertson, and it’s kind of blowing my mind. Have you tried that chocolate? Ridiculous.
And I just learned that Robertson, the pastry chef at Mistralkitchen (and formerly at Canlis), will be using it to make brownies and macaroons, which will be sold at the new Claudio Corallo storefront, which is just down the street from the restaurant in South Lake Union.
Love it or don’t, but South Lake Union is fast blossoming into the neighborhood of things that taste good. I worry for Belltown, but I still want a brownie.

Question: With all these new restaurants going to South Lake Union, will parking be a nightmare? How are we supposed to get there to try the delicious chocolate?
Take the SLUT! For the time being, parking in SLU is much easier than its bordering neighborhoods, but everyone should be encouraged to save the planet by SLUTting it up.
Parking actually isn’t a nightmare, because it isn’t free (well after 6 it is on the street).
I work right near Claudio and grew back my “Christmas Chin” aka double or triple chin, since they will not stop tempting me. It’s basically an Edmund-Turkish Delight sitch.
“Christmas chin!” That’s amazing.
OK, please define South Lake Union, because 6th & Virginia is downtown to me. Right? The Westin is downtown. Farestart is downtown. Mistral is downtown. Is this spin from landlords? The gerrymandering of the SLU boundary is really weird.
Shelly-
I understand your confusion. LOL. I work on Westlake and Lenora, and everyone I work with refers to our neighborhood as SLU. But what about the Denny Triangle? Basically I have learned that saying Denny Triangle equates to saying West Edge or Cascade…names of areas that most are unfamiliar.
I’ve been told that the somewhat official south border for SLU is Denny, but since the Streetcar passes by my office, I wonder if that’s contributed to this area being sort of lumped in as well.
