Not sure if you’ve heard, but there is a full-on canvolution sweeping the nation—part of the seemingly bottomless nostalgia among culinary folk for kitchen practices of yore.

If the idea of preserving foods appeals, and you find yourself with a free afternoon, you might head to Oddfellows at 2pm today. There, Kelly Geary—owner of Brooklyn’s Sweet Deliverance and author of the book Tart and Sweet: 101 Canning and Pickling Recipes for the Modern Kitchen—will be giving a two-hour canning demo aimed at teaching you to preserve without fear of botulism and such.

The $40 entry fee includes a copy of Tart and Sweet as well as jar of Geary-made jam.

Reserve by emailing Tallulah@lindashq.com.
