Bluwater Bistro Reinvents the Duck Dodge…in Rubber

Benefits memorial fund for slain officer Timothy Brenton

By Kathryn Robinson September 8, 2010

This duck not for sale

From now through this Saturday, September 11, diners can buy $5 rubber ducks along with their crab rangoons and mahi mahi tacos at any Bluwater Bistro location.

Why would a diner want to buy a rubber duck? Because all proceeds from the sales go to the Timothy Brenton Memorial Fund, to finance a neighborhood memorial for the slain officer. He’s the policeman who was shot last Halloween by cop-killer Christopher Monfort, just up the hill from the Leschi Bluwater.

On Saturday, September 11, all the ducks will “compete” in a race just outside the restaurant, with the owner of the winning duck to win a $1000 gift card to Bluwater. Other prizes will be given as well.

May the best duck win.
