It’s the last show of his Welcome to Canada tour. Huh.

Is that some purple rain showering down?
Prince, or the artist formerly known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, hasn’t played the Seattle-Tacoma area since 2004—but thanks to scheduling conflicts, that’s about to change. A concert slated for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (uh, where?) has been canceled and Prince will now end his Welcome to Canada tour in Tacoma on December 19. Close enough, eh?
Over the past year, Prince has consistently invited superstar guests to perform—Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, and Chaka Khan among them—though no news yet about any special voices joining him in Tacoma. Either way, we still get his falsetto, a lineup of his greatest hits, and those crazy legs, as fantastic as ever. So treat yourself to a little flamboyance this season.
Tickets ($20–$199) go on sale this Saturday, November 19 at 10am at ticketmaster.com.
As a warmup, watch this video, and maybe drink a Purple Rain (and we do mean just one—that drink is no joke.)
Prince will play Tacoma Dome on Monday, December 19, at 8pm.
Presale for this hip-hop madness starts July 28 (Update: now starts August 2).

Blinded by the bling Jay-Z and Kanye West tour together starting in September.
Believe it: Kanye West and Jay-Z have formed a hip-hop supergroup, the Throne, and plan to take their collective egos—err, new album—on the road this fall with a stopover at Tacoma Dome on October 13. The ticket presale starts Thursday, July 28, at 10am at livenation.com, but the regular sale starts the day the album drops, August 8. (UPDATE 7/28/11. Due to demand, the presale date has been moved to August 2 to accommodate concerts being added to the lineup. Regular sale date is still August 8.)
While the dynamic duo has visited each others’ stages before and produced together, their work on new album Watch the Throne is their first truly collaborative effort. Only 20 or so journalists have actually heard the LP, but it’s still generating plenty of buzz and will feature high-profile contributions from the likes of Odd Fellows’ Future’s Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, and Otis Redding. Given all the talent involved, it’ll be interesting to see if Kanye and Jay-Z can share the “throne” on stage (and a tour bus).
Want to see what the hype is all about? Stream the soulful lead track, “Otis,” at watchthethrone.com or watch their previously released single, “H.A.M.”

Brittany (Heather Morris) and Britney on Glee.
Yes, she’s had her off years (that shaved head? A marriage to K-Fed? Crossroads?), but from the looks of things, Britney Spears is staging a comeback. Glee dedicated an entire episode to her music. The video for her new single “Hold It Against Me” hit No 1 on VH1 and MTV (yes, they still show videos). Her newest album, Femme Fatale, just went platinum—and has been praised by a critic or two as her strongest yet.
To celebrate, Brit’s hitting the road this summer. She’ll be at the Tacoma Dome June 29 with an all-female posse of Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Nervo. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, May 7, at 10am at ticketmaster.com.
No word yet on whether the live pythons will accompany.
