Ray LaMontagne, David Gray to Play Marymoor Park

Maine singer-songwriter joins forces with…“Babylon” man? Ugh.

Email

Full disclosure: Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing” is my wedding song. David Gray’s “Babylon” is the song I associate with a cocky schmoe I dated in college who loved to wear cashmere and talk about how great he was. Pairing the two acts on one bill is slightly devastating, running me through my romantic past like I’m in a Nick Hornby novel. But not everyone associates the British singer-songwriter with nausea, so I figured you should know.

Ray LaMontagne and David Gray play Marymoor Park on September 12. Tickets ($38-$70) go on sale Friday, June 25, at 10am on livenation.com and ticketmaster.com. Ray has a new album, God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise, slated for an August release, while Gray’s expected to release an album of 11 new songs and nine previously unrecorded tracks the same month.

DG’s most recent album is pretty darn awesome – this show is sure to be uber swoon-y.
