Tomorrow some talented local bartenders will be slinging drinks at Rocco’s to benefit those affected by last month's Boston Marathon bombings. From 8-2 on June 5, guests of the Sea to Sea benefit can expect specialty cocktails with Boston themes and raffle ticket prizes throughout the night, with proceeds headed toward Bean town. (Get it? Sea to Sea?)

Organizers and bartenders Elizabeth Powell (Liberty) and Leroy Thomas (Rocco’s) filled us in on the details.

Powell, who hails from Boston, has connections with what sounds like some of the coolest cadres ever: the Boston chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild and the dames of LUPEC, which stands for Ladies United for the Preservation of the Endangered Cocktail. When Powell read about the recent DrinkOne fundraiser in her hometown last month, she asked Rocco’s to help host a Seattle event to show support for the cause—and Seattle got behind her. (Also behind her are sponsors Disaronno, Bombay Sapphire, Four Roses Bourbon, Milagro, and Merlet Cognac among others.)

So what specialty cocktails will guest imbibe? “We will have the Ward 8 and a Sidecar amongst other secret tasty drinks,” Powell says. Thomas confirmed with promises of Boston Coolers, Boston Sours, and the promise of other event-specific drinks. More details can be found on Sea to Sea’s Facebook page
