Elemental Pizza Happy Hour
At Elemental Pizza, the cookies are made daily and the ice cream comes from Bottega. The price: $4 during happy hour. Photo via Facebook.

Tis the season for happy hour, apparently. Several more venerable establishments have rolled out discounts. Details below.

The Whale Wins
As if you needed an excuse to frequent this latest addition to the Renee Erickson portfolio, here comes Whale Call Happy Hour. Rioja or a glasses of wine from Gascony are $5 or $6, while various edibles (cheese, charcuterie, tartines, Erickson's signature pickles) and draft beers are $1 off. The whale comes calling Wednesday through Sunday from 3 to 5.

Caffe Torino
The coffee drinks and pastries at this new SLU cafe take cues from northern Italy, and so does the happy hour—owner Andrea Florissi models it after the postwork aperitivo tradition of his native country. Prosecco, wine and wine cocktails (intriguing), bitters, and beer are available weekdays between 4 and 6; the small plates rotate daily.

Elemental Pizza
U Village shoppers in need of sustenance pitstop here for generous discounts on eight food items. Margherita and pepperoni pies go for $7 or $8, meatballs and stomboli are $5, a roasted broccolini is $3, and ice cream sandwiches (made with Bottega gelato) $4. Wells, wines, and cocktails are marked down as well.

Bottlehouse
A charming wine bar if ever there was one, with an equally charming couple running it, Sundays here mean $4 vermouth on tap, $4 drafts, $5 vino, $6 mimosas, and sake Bloody Marys priced the same, from noon to close. Food specials include cheese (grilled and assorted) and curried pickled egg.

Schooner Exact
The SoDo brewery is making use of its just-expanded dining room with a Monday-through-Friday happy hour that happens from 2:30 to 5:30—an excellent opportunity to not only sample some ales (that's a given) but also Warren Peterson's kitchen handiwork.
