Seattle Repertory Theatre is feeling generous during its 50th-anniversary season—like a grandfather with a fat pension. To celebrate, it's giving away two theater subscriptions. For life. Think about it: If you're 28, and you eat right and go for a walk every now and then, you could feasibly live to be 78 (the average in the U.S.); and if you attend every one of the Rep's eight or so shows a season—give or take a few because of baby-making or illness or sporting events—you'll have access to 400 plays over a lifetime. That's brilliant. If I wasn't already covering theater for a living, I'd be competing.
Here's how it works:
Arrive at Seattle Rep at noon on August 18 to participate in our scavenger hunt to win Theatre for Life. You'll be given a booklet that will guide you to eight locations at Seattle Center. At each station, you'll perform a task related to a play in our 50th Anniversary season and then we’ll stamp your booklet. Easy! Collect all eight stamps and return to Seattle Rep to be entered to win two subscriptions to Seattle Rep for the rest of your life.
According to their Facebook page, you have between noon and 4pm to participate, so if you can't make it at the stroke of noon, it's okay. This isn't Amazing Race. A block party with food trucks, drinks, music, games, and door prizes (tickets to the Museum of Flight, the opening night of War Horse, a tour of the Boeing plant, and Seattle Rep play passes) follows at 1:30.
