Vulture (via Variety) has this bit of news on Friday: AMC's crime drama The Killing may return for a third season, despite declining ratings and the resolution of the show's original mystery. (Rosie Larson's killer was outed at the end of season two.) Showrunner Veena Sud and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are back in the writers' room, according to Variety, plotting new ways to make the Seattle-set show look even soggier. (So...many...downpours.) And AMC and Netflix are said to be in negotiations for a May 2013 series rebirth, though cast and details have not been finalized.

AMC canceled The Killing in June—because, you know, they solved the crime—but faces a future without critical darling Breaking Bad. That could make anyone desperate. Will update as we learn more.
