A few thoughts…

You can tell within minutes that this is an Aaron Sorkin script. Jesse Eisenberg (as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg) rattles off lines quicker than caffeinated Gilmore girls in their heyday (i.e. before Amy Sherman left); it’s condescension as poetry.

Apparently, to be a billionaire by age 23, you need to 1) steal an idea; 2) know how to write computer code; 3) be able to code for 36 hours straight; 4) have one friend, and said friend should be filthy rich; 5) have trouble talking to girls; 6) mask insecurity as extreme narcissism; 7) wear only GAP hoodies and sandals with socks.

I find it fascinating that Rashida Jones, the one woman who’s not crazy, useless, or objectified in this movie, actually went to Harvard—she graduated in 1997. She also has the best line in the whole movie (to Jesse Eisenberg): "You’re not an asshole, Mark. You’re just trying so hard to be one." … UPDATED 10/13/10 A lot of women have blasted the film as misogynistic. Aaron Sorkin explains himself on TV writer Ken Levine’s blog.

Director David Fincher is allowed to shoot regatta scenes with tilt-shift, but he is not allowed to use CGI to make snow or cold breath ever again.

Justin Timberlake (as Napster co-creator Sean Parker) is very good at playing a pompous party boy.

I would argue that a Facebook movie that fixates on its creator, creation, and ensuing legal drama is too wonky—except my parents are probably going to see it. And tweet about it.

Facebook was created to get girls. Period.

This movie is not going to help the real Mark Zuckerberg get girls.

Bottom line: Go see it.
