Macklemore and Ryan Lewis return home Dec 10-12 at KeyArena.

CONCERT
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis played 206 shows in the year following the release of The Heist (October 9, 2012 through October 9, 2013). How fitting. It’s been a long road home for our local boys, who wind down a year of constant touring with three nights at KeyArena, in their first Seattle shows since becoming superstars. Dec 10–12 KeyArena, keyarena.com

Theater

“I like to consider myself a drag queen actress, not one or the other.”—Seattle’s Jerick Hoffer (aka Jinkx Monsoon).

From winning the most recent season of RuPaul’s Drag Race to starring in 5th Avenue Theatre’s Hairspray, it’s been a big year for Hoffer. He reprieves his popular role in Balagan Theatre’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch in December. Dec 17–22 Moore Theatre, stgpresents.org

New Year's Eve

Pyrology, musicology, and mixology. Pacific Science Center finally takes advantage of its proximity to the Space Needle’s New Year’s Eve fireworks by hosting its first NYE party, Spectra 2014: New Year’s Eve Under the Arches. Besides champagne and explosions in the sky, the night features four KEXP-approved DJs each spinning different styles of music in separate rooms, plus aerialists and outdoor fire sculptures. Dec 31 Pacific Science Center, pacificsciencecenter.org

Holiday

Bellevue Magic Season is a one-stop destination for classic holiday activities. Gaze at the illuminated color bulbs of Garden d’Lights, lace up the skates at the ice arena, see Santa gallivant on Snowflake Lane, and create sweet abodes on Gingerbread Lane. Thru Jan 12 Downtown Bellevue, magicseason.com

COMEDY

There are some great standup shows coming to Seattle in December. Unfortunately, four of the best offerings are scheduled on two nights. With that in mind, we provide a tale of the tape breakdown December's standup showdowns. Four comedians enter Seattle, but only two can win your time.
