Eater Seattle reports that Thornton Place in Northgate has added this independently owned pub replete with 21 taps and a menu focused on pizza, sandwiches, and salads.

Maple Leaf Life says that the neighborhood institution will bar its doors after 25 years on May 23.

Belltown’s wharf retreat turned 90s club turned barbecue joint has turned into a Craigslist posting for a landmark restaurant space for lease, according to the Seattle PI. Perhaps new owners can restore the cool vibes and historic roots that were lost after the First Avenue locale’s most recent sale in 2001.

Piecora’s
Capitol Hill’s pizza scene took a major blow this week as Capitol Hill Seattle blog reports the 33-year-old New York style pizzeria will close April 15, likely to make way for an apartment complex built by the space’s new Chicago-based owner Equity Residential.

Serious Pie
The plan for a Serious Pie in Capitol Hill is indeed a done deal; Zagat Seattle confirms that Tom Douglas has signed the lease on part of the space that's also the future home to a Starbucks roastery. Zagat also shares a few details: This Serious Pie won’t just do pizza; Douglas plans to bring sandwiches, Dahlia Bakery pastries, and a 10 foot bar to the former Mercedes dealership location at Pike and Minor.

A Full Tilt Ice Cream Truck
A menu of eight rotating flavors, draft soda, sundaes, and milkshakes are already in the works. All Full Tilt’s newly planned ice cream truck needs is a name. Owner Justin Cline is looking for input via facebook and twitter, reports Eater Seattle, and the winning suggestion garners a party for 50.

Manolin
Stone Way continues to add restaurants as the Walrus and the Carpenter general manager Joe Sundberg will partner with the Whale Wins' Rachel Johnson to open this seafood lover’s bar in July, reports Eater Seattle.

Álvaro Candela Joins The Saint
Monday, April 7 marks the final appearance of taco master Álvaro Candela at his popular weekly taco pop up Sitka and Spruce. The good news: He's making his malafacha menu an everyday thing over at The Saint on Olive Way. His first day as executive chef is April 9.

MEALS

The Whale Wins
Renee Erickson's Stone Way restaurant now offers $10 takeaway sandwiches, a pile of which will be ready and waiting eacy day come lunchtime. Right now the offerings are meatloaf, chicken with shredded cabbage and spiced yogurt sauce, and nettle pesto with potatoes. The price drops to $8 at 3 pm, but each day’s supply might not last ‘til then.

Pintxo
The Belltown tapas bar has a late night menu featuring new items, some holdovers from the dinner selection, and discounted drinks like $5 mules, $2 bottles of Estrella Damm, and $6 pours of house red and white wine. It runs 10:30 to 1:30. Owner Amanda Akin also promises the lights will be low and the music will be subtle.

The Rhino Room
From 11 am to 10 pm, the Pine Street bar slash rhinoceros anatomy education center will be serving food, namely Ma'ono chef Mark Fuller's Hawaii-inspired creations like plate lunch, sandwiches, musubi, and burritos(!). Yes, his famed fried chicken is among the offerings, chopped up as filling for a sandwich..

American Distilling Institute
The 11th Annual American Distilling Institute Conference took place in Seattle this week, and Brovo Spirits, Sidetrack Distillery, and Wildwood Spirits and Co. are among the 16 Washington State distilleries to win awards. The Seattle Times has the full list of local winners.
