OPENINGS

The Box and Bottle
The proprietors of this casual dining and takeout spot, a sibling to the Blue Glass, recently told the world that the soft open will take place beginning Monday of next week. The official grand opening will happen during the Phinney Art Walk on the 8th.

Top Pot on Western
Top Pot has expanded again. The chainlet's newest location has officially opened on Western Avenue, just blocks from the office… The Seattle Met staff is about to get bigger, and we don’t expect to add any employees, either.

Molly Moon’s North Capitol Hill
Another local institution has launched a new location: The Hello, Robin cookie shop at 19th and Mercer now has a Molly Moon's microshop, and the staff is amped to dole out cones, sundaes, and shakes from a walk-up window that opened on May 1. Hours are noon to 10pm.

CLOSINGS

Kaisho
The Bellevue izakaya, a sibling to Boom Noodle and Blue C Sushi, shuttered after five months in operation to make way for a Blue C test kitchen and event space, reports Eater Seattle.

REOPENINGS

Stellar Pizza
After shuttering earlier this year due to a massive problem with back taxes, the Georgetown pizzeria is back, reports Eater Seattle.

POP UPS

Hummus Pop Up
Aaron Strauss is working to bring classic Middle Eastern hummus shop vibes to the Northwest, beginning with a pop up in Brimmer and Heeltap’s space next Tuesday. Locally sourced asparagus, fresh tabbouleh, and a beverage selection including Middle Eastern specialty Arakh will complement Strauss’s handmade hummus and pita.

COMING SOON

Brunswick and Hunt
Ballard apparently can never get enough restaurants, with a long-anticipated project from brothers Barry and Scott Rogel set to open at the corner of 70th and 15th on May 22. The chef is Jeff Davidson is behind the seasonal menu and lead bartender Eric Holmquist will oversee the drinks being poured at the vintage wooden bar.

Big Chickie
A couple by the name of Matt and Sara Stubbs will bring Peru's signature chicken to Hillman City. Charcoal-roasted pollo a la brasa is marinated for 24 hours before hanging out on a rotisserie until it reaches the perfect collision of crispy and juicy. The casual takeout spot should open this summer.

Tavern Hall
Munchbar in Bellevue is finally getting replaced, as the Cactus brothers and the team behind Stoneburner, Bastille, et al. are banding together to open this 320-seat behemoth of a bar at Bellevue Square. Tavern Hall will have 20 taps, a full cocktail spread, and a menu featuring wings, soft pretzels, and burgers made with a custom grind of beef.

Sur 16
Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reports conquistadors will be invading the neighborhood this summer. Lock your doors and windows, stock up on weapons, and please, whatever you do, don’t accept any gifts from men in metal hats. Oh, it’s a Spanish-themed bar? Well, that first paragraph was certainly misleading… unlock those doors when Sur 16 opens this summer and go try the mezcal-tinis. We still wouldn’t accept anything from men in a metal hats.
