OPENINGS

8oz Burger and Co.
The Capitol Hill burger bar has finally unleashed its Ballard sibling. The bar features 50 whiskies and 12 beers on tap; sounds like there will be some mean pairings to go with the PB&J burger... Oh that? That's a burger with tomato jam, cinnamon spiced peanut butter, fontina, and bacon on, wait for it, a pretzel bun. Alright do we have your full attention now? It's a special menu item just for the Ballard location.

Cone and Steiner
In the latest installment of chefs opening markets, Pioneer Square is now home to the second location of this mercantile from Joshua Henderson, Dani Cone, and the ladies behind Retrofit Home. The newly open Cone and Steiner has a four-seat bar to grab a pint or fill a growler, plus tons of local products and housewares. This market also meets Kathryn Robinson's criteria for how to name a restaurant, so obviously it's a winner.

Prime 809
This new "spirits lounge" is inside the South Lake Union location of Daniel's Broiler and it offers 50 bourbons and 40 scotch selections along with a variety of champagne. Apparently the similarly appointed Prime 21 lounge at the Bellevue location prompted this addition.

COMING SOON

Tray Kitchen
You heard it here first, folks. This dim sum-style dining experience from the owner of Bacco Cafe and Chan will feature dishes that are wheeled upon a cart throughout the restaurant. There will be a few mainstays, but many of the options will feature local ingredients from his farm in Woodinville. We're pretty excited about this place to open in the fall, so you should be too.

Sammamish Metropolitan Market
The happiness-inducing artisanal market is opening its seventh location in the new Town Center development in late 2016.

CLOSINGS

Dulces
This bistro that landed on the ground floor of Lawerence Lofts in Capitol Hill after a stint downtown and a long stay in Madrona is calling it quits. Capitol Hill Seattle blog reported that the owners were having a hard time drawing in the younger crowds. But fear not, they might be making an appearence once again if they can find a smaller space somewhere relatively nearby.

Black Coffee Co-Op
The anarchist co-op is searching for a new home. The Capitol Hill location has not been as successful as hoped for the group of six owners as reported by CHS. With a crowdfunding effort already under way, the owners have high hopes to find a new spot for their coffee experiment.

WHOA

Aragona becomes Vespolina
Jason Stratton's splashy downtown Spanish spot is undergoing a quick transformation after just eight months in business. On September 8 it will become a northern Italian restaurant. Stratton said diners had a hard time understanding his non-traditional Spanish food, especially the rice dishes.
