Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass close out SIFF with The One I Love.

SIFF Closing Night Gala: The One I Love

SIFF 2014 concludes on a surreal note with The One I Love. The film stars Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Mark Duplass (The League, Safety Not Guaranteed) as a couple that takes a vacation retreat in hopes of sorting out their marital issues. Things start taking a turn for The Twilight Zone when each party seems to be weirdly oblivious very recent actions. Both Moss and Duplass will attend the gala.

Screening: June 8 at 6 (Cinerama). $50–$100.

They Came Together

We all acknowledge how utterly ridiculous nature of most romantic comedies, and writer/director David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models) goes way over the top to spoof the genre with They Came Together. Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler star as a couple living out every absurd cliché with exaggerated irreverence. Expect plenty of laughs sans subtlety.

Screenings: June 7 at 7 (Egyptian) / June 8 at 2 (Egyptian). Saturday sold out; Sunday $12.
