The quick-service slider restaurant opened this week at 1513 Broadway in the old Grubwich location. You can find $3 mini bugers and hot dogs with quirky flavor stylings like Hawaiian or spicy jalapeno.
Some Random Bar
A new "barstaurant" opened in Belltown, at at 2604 First Ave, with a curious name partly derived from the show Seinfeld. Some Random Bar has a little bit of everything—TVs, a cocktail list full of fresh juices and housemade elements, and a seasonal menu that currently features a crab nachos and an heirloom tomato salad.
Blind Pig at Eastlake Teriyaki
Owners Charles Walpole and René Gutierrez opened the doors to their newest venture on Wednesday. Last month, Walpole and Gutierrez announced they were taking over the former Eastlake Teriyaki space next door their existing restaurant, Blind Pig Bistro. Blind Pig at Eastlake Teriyaki is open weekdays at 2236 Eastlake Ave E from 11 to 9, offering lunch and takeout options.
The Bellevue Nordstrom location introduced its new cocktail lounge and limited eatery this week on the second floor next to the women's apparel area, says the Puget Sound Business Journal. The open concept bar is oddly situated right in the middle of heavy foot traffic, but is apparently part of a trial to see if the concept could work in other Nordstrom locations.
Alibi Room: Greenwood
Phinneywood reported the opening of the second location of the Alibi Room this week at 10406 Holman Road N. Since Greenwood Alibi's menu will be exactly the same as the Pike Place Market location, you'll be able to get cheese plates and brick oven pizza.
The cheap eatery on Broadway is no more, according to CHS. King's Teriyaki owners quietly cleared the space sometime earlier this month. The closure leaves Teriyaki and Wok the only teriyaki joint on Broadway.
A Turkish eatery is replacing former Wallingford Greek restaurant Golden Olive, Wallyhood says. Sedat Uysal, chef/owner of Cafe Paloma is renovating the new space and plans to feature Turkish food from every region. Expect to also see housemade bread, cocktails, beer, and liquor on the menu.
Le Petit Cochon
A restaurant dedicated to whole hog cooking is opening next month in the former second-story Showa space in Fremont, Eater Seattle reports. Owner/chef Derek Ronspies envisions his restaurant as "farm-to-table" style with menu items like foie gras fritters, marble king salmon, and lemon confit.
Woodinville Whiskey and Hollywood Taven
One of Washington state's biggest and most established distilleries is moving to a new complex that is four times the size of the original and is being built around the historic Woodinville tavern that Joshua Henderson is restyling. The restaurant will serve a destination-worthy cheeseburger, rotisserie meats, and whiskeycentric cocktails using, of course, whiskey from next door.
Sophie and Eric Banh announced this week they are shaking up their menu. Crab Feast is back and available on Friday and Saturday evenings, full bottles of wine are 30 percent off on Sunday and Monday, and a new cocktail menu featuring plenty of fresh summer fruits will make its first appearence this week.
Speaking of reduced prices, Eater Seattle has news Cafe Lago just lowered the prices on the entire menu by a few dollars. Half sizes of their famous lasagna are also now available for half the price.
The owners of the neighborhood Japanese restaurant in Ballard will be closing their doors and retiring, My Ballard reports. Kerri Junio, whose parents owned O'Shan will be reopening a Korean deli in the same space.
D:floured owners Phebe Rossi and Amanda Bedell have renamed their company after some back and forth with a company with a similar name. Their gluten-free treats (including perfectly flaky dough—certainly not easy to make without butter!) can still be found at the same local cafes, grocery stores, and farmers markets D:floured was sold at before.
The Seattle burger shop is partnering with Treehouse to have a month-long donation drive to help local foster children. In addition to hosting a drop off drive at both locations for back to school items, Li'l Woodys has created a new burger in honor of the drive. The Treehouse burger has arugula, swiss cheese, balsamic onions, and garlic mayo and is only available for a short time at the Capitol Hill location.
