Even if the Mariners have a rough season, there's going to be one guaranteed sell out at Safeco Field. Sir Paul McCartney is coming to town for the first major concert in Safeco's history.
The Beatle brings his Out There tour to the ballpark on July 19. The career-spanning set—which touches on material from his solo album, Wings, and the Beatles' catalog—is said to last nearly three hours. McCartney brings along a massive 200-foot-wide stage that will take two days to assemble in center field and features two 60-foot LED screens. A little over 40,000 seats will be available for the show, 8,000 of which will be on the field.
Tickets start at $39.50 and go on sale this Friday, April 12, at 10am via livenation.com and by phone at 800-745-3000. You'll want to snatch them up quickly. McCartney played the Kingdom in 1990 (with a capacity around 50,000) and tickets sold out in the first day. Just last week, McCartney sold out Fenway Park in Boston in 15 minutes.
