SATURDAY, June 21
Dinner at Prosser Farm
Tom Douglas and wife Jackie Cross bought farmland in Yakima Valley eight years ago, and their five-acre farm has been a source of produce for their restaurants ever since. They’re opening up the farm for three days this summer, creating six-course seasonal dinners. The first begins at 5pm on Saturday with appetizers and champagne, followed by a farm tour. Contact email@example.com for reservations for the $165 dinner.
MONDAY, June 23
Steven Raichlen at RN74
Writer and PBS host Steven Raichlen will bring his testosterone–tinged cuisine to Michael Mina’s downtown restaurant with the help of Book Larder. He’ll be signing copies of his new book, Man Made Meals: The Essential Cookbook for Guys, then teaming up with executive chef David Varley for a (sure to be meat-forward) four-course meal. The book signing begins at 6pm and is open to all, and the 7pm VIP dinner is $120. Call 206-456-7474 to reserve a spot.
Aquavit Workshop at the Swedish Club
The proprietor and distiller at Old Ballard Liquor Co., who goes by the mononymous moniker of Lexi, will highlight the history, flavor profiles, and food pairing potential of this herbaceous Scandinavian spirit. Local legend Murray Stenson called it “one of the best classes I’ve taken in 37 years of bartending,” so there’s that. Reservations for the $75 class can be made online.
