“Favorite staff meals from our restaurants to your home” is the theme of this free Book Larder event, where Michael Romano (coauthor of Union Square Cafe Cookbook) takes you behind the scenes of Danny Meyer’s restaurants to share the food the chefs cook for one another before they cook for you.
Salty’s on Alki Beach is hosting its the 12th annual syrah event, with tantalizing red wines from more than 30 Washington wineries and sultry appetizers, including Alaskan halibut cakes and beef brisket sliders. A portion of the $45 ticket benefits FareStart, a nonprofit dedicated to providing culinary job training to disadvantaged individuals.

Japanese Farm Food Dinner with Nancy Singleton Hachisu
As part of her book tour, Japanese Farm Food author Nancy Singleton Hachisu is taking over the kitchen at Hitchcock for a dinner featuring fermented goods and organic rice straight from Singleton’s farm in Japan. A week before the Passport to Woodinville Open House Weekend, this brand-new event brings more than 40 local producers to the Columbia Winery with gourmet bites from restaurants close by. Tickets are $75 or splurge with a two day pass to both weekend events for $125.
