WHERE: Mandy Greer's Columbia City studio.
WHAT: Local visual, mixed-media, installation, and fiber (plus several other mediums) artist Mandy Greer hosts a cowl-making workshop for absolute beginners interested in recycling some old t-shirts to create a stylish and sustainable accessory.
Participants are asked to bring 5 to 8 t-shirts or other garments made from jersey fabric. Greer suggests hunting for materials at the Goodwill Outlet or other local thrift shops.
Don't worry if you've never made anything by hand before ever. Really. The process is simple and you'll leave with a lovely, wearable cowl perfect for spring layering—and, if Greer has her way, a new outlook on our consumer culture.
WHEN: Three sessions are held on March 1 from 5 to 8:30, and March 2 and 3 from 2 to 5:30. Class size is limited to 11 people and costs $25. Click here for more information and to register online.
