Bargain-hunting print fanatics have been on the edge of their seats since last September, when Target announced that its upcoming capsule collection was a collaboration with Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of the crazily cacophonous and multi-culti line Peter Pilotto.

The look book has just been released, and it was worth every last precarious chair position and then some.

UPDATE (January 28): We have finally received word from Target HQ and obtained this list of Seattle-area stores scheduled to carry the collection: Factoria, Everett, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kent, Lake Stevens, Marysville, Redmond, West Seattle, Northgate, and downtown's City Target.

Click through our slideshow for a dozen or so of our favorite kaleidoscopic looks; the collection includes print and pattern mash-ups in the categories of accessories, swimwear, and ready-to-wear, and most pieces are priced at $60 and under. Pretty darn affordable not just by designer fashion standards (check the $2,300 Peter Pilotto jacket we just had to shoot for spring fashion last year) but by Target collab standards, too.

So far we've confirmed that downtown's City Target will have at least part of the collection when it is released on February 9. The representative we spoke to was vague, and uncertain, and referred us to corporporate media relations who has yet to return our call. Perhaps they are still all tied up in that holiday season credit card debacle.

We do know that the capsule will also be sold on target.com, and an edited capsule—the luxest, spendiest bits, we're betting—will be available on net-a-porter.com, ostensibly to allow access to Pilotto's international fans.

And we do know that one smart way to shop these collaborations is to skip the early morning queue and make a few repeated and random trips starting that afternoon and in the days that follow. Folks tend to act the fool when they've been waiting with baited breath in the cold all morning, which means they buy stuff that doesn't fit or otherwise doesn't work for them, and then return it later.
