2013 is coming to a close and you probably didn’t take enough chances or pursue enough love interests, and you certainly didn’t drink enough rare and delicious beer. The Pine Box can help you avoid (at least) one of these regrets this New Year’s Eve when they break out 10 Barrel Brewings German Sparkle Party awarded gold for Berlinerweiss at the Great American Beer Festival as well as their Cherry Crush. Polar Bear Plunge
Forget Advil and coffee, the best way to shake off your hangover this New Year’s Day is at the Polar Bear Plunge and one-mile fun run at Point Defiance Marina. Costumes are encouraged, and let's face it- no matter what getup you put on for the plunge it will still be only the second craziest thing you do that day. In case you needed an even better reason to stop by Seattle Art Museum’s free First Thursday this week, the Ladies Musical Club will be presenting ART of the PIANO with pieces by Chopin and other classical works. This annual showcase of female talent will feature Selina Chu, Nobuko Hasegawa, and other top pianists from around Washington. Stop by this day for an extra large dose of free culture. Upbeat sunshiny surf rock is just what Seattle needs, especially this time of year. Help put a positive spin on your 2014 by catching Surfer Blood playing with Wild Ones and Cock and Swan.
