WEDNESDAY, July 9
Pan Pacific Sips of Summer
Pan Pacific Hotel’s bar and patio will host three evening happy hour events on the second Wednesday of each month through September. Each evening will feature happy hour pricing and live music from 4–8, Washington wine tastings from 6–8, and meet-and-greets with local winemakers. The first event this Wednesday will feature tastings from Col Solare Winery, Sleight of Hand Cellars, and Va Piano Vineyards.
THURSDAY, July 10
This sixth annual wine festival at Elliot Hall will feature a solid live music lineup, a who's-who of Washington wineries, and a pretty stellar Pier 66 backdrop—all benefitting the University District food bank. Tickets are available online, and they're expected to sell out. Heed the website's warning: "Procrastinate at your own risk."
FRIDAY, July 11
Trellis Farm Dinner
Farm-to-table chef Brian Scheehser will host his second annual outdoor dinner at the South 47 Farm in Redmond. Diners can enjoy farm tours, beverages, and appetizers starting at 4pm, and a five-course dinner featuring just-picked produce, Alaskan halibut, and Washington wine pairings will follow. Any and all guidelines for dining well alfresco apply. Reservations for the $159 meal can be made by calling 425-284-5858.
SATURDAY, July 12
This two-day International District celebration, expected to draw over 30,000 to the neighborhood, will feature lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese taiko drumming—oh, and lots and lots (and lots) of food. Saturday's night market from 6–12 will have a lineup of food trucks, and Sunday's food walk will have a selection of $2 tastes from some of the International District's 120 restaurants.
Pour at El Gaucho Bellevue
El Gaucho Bellevue’s wine tasting and dinner will feature tastes from no fewer than 30 wineries, as well as noshes from Taylor Shellfish, Smitten Artisan Truffles, and Golden Glen Creamery. Woodinville Whiskey Co. and Batch 206 distilleries will also be represented. Guests may purchase tickets for tasting alone ($85), dinner alone ($125) or tasting and dinner ($160) by calling 425-455-2715.
Proof Washington Distillers Festival
This Washington Distillers Guild–sponsored boozefest, located at Fremont Studios, will offer tastings from 40 distilleries. They'll also have grub from the likes of Manhattan, Bluebird Ice Cream, Theo Chocolate, and more. 150 VIP admission tickets are available for $75, which includes 12 tasting tokens, a commemorative tasting glass, early entrance, and an afterparty at the W Hotel. The rest of the plebians can score $45 general admission tickets. Both are available online.
SUNDAY, July 13
Fifth Taste Events, Volume I
Restaurant PR agent/line cook/lighting rod Tiffany Ran, in partnership with hot dog vendor/radio host/2004 Apprentice auditioner Joe Jeannot, will be launching a casual food and cocktail series at WithinSodo event space. Several current and former Ran collaborators will make appearances at the first event, including Derek Ronspies, Brendan McGill, and Erik Donnelly. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Community for Youth, which helps college-bound youth to pay for necessities. $85 tickets are available online.
J.J. Proville at E. Smith Mercantile
The 2014 Next Hot Chef winner will augent his busy pasta-adorning schedule at Il Corvo with a guest chef stint at E. Smith. The $85 meal farm-to-table affair will feature Oregon bison tartare and poached steelhead in a Walla Walla onion-Dungeness crab broth. Wine and cocktail flights will be available. Moroccan Lamb and Rosé at Boat Street Cafe
Chef Renee Erickson's recent Morocco trip inspired an authentic Mediterranean meal at her first beloved restaurant. The $100 meal opens with a sea salt-date flatbread and cracked green olives with harissa, and ends with a goat milk vanilla panna cotta with sesame cookies. Sunday Supper at Volunteer Park Cafe
Chef Ericka Burke's monthly Sunday meal will feature straight-from-the-garden produce like squash blossoms, snap peas, and charred tomatoes. The $40 meal starts at 6pm, and wine, beer, and soft drinks are available for an additional cost. Call 206-328-3155 to reserve your spot.
MONDAY, July 14
Seattle will be celebrating La Fête Nationale all week long, with street fairs, live music, and French food aplenty. Check out the full lineup here.
In collaboration with the Neighborhood Farmers Markets Alliance, Crown Hill's Swanson's Nursery will host a lineup of farmers, chefs, and restaurateurs from across Seattle for an aptly-named Incredible Feast. There will also be games, prizes, and a silent auction to support Washington's family farmers through the Good Farmer Fund, as well as market classes and programs. $80 Early Bird tickets are available online through July 15.
