Forget Fashion Week
September is Runway Month
Save these dates, people: there's a trio of big-time Seattle and Bellevue fashion events headed your way.
There was a time, not too long ago, when we used to hear grumblings about the lack of fashion to-dos around here but if you've been paying attention (or getting our newsletters) you know we're past all that.
Exhibit A: September
Let's take a closer look at the big three of big fashion events, in order of appearance:
Thursday September 11 at Showbox Sodo: Fashion First
This marks the tenth year that Joan Kelly has produced this boutiques-on-parade style runway celebration, which according to her team makes it the longest running such event in town. With shops such as Ballard's Ketch, Madison Park's Canopy Blue, and Bellevue's David Lawrence, the sum of these parts equals a cool mix of uptown/downtown styles, neighborhoods, and price points. Consider it a one-stop shop; it'll be like you traversed the city without leaving SoDo.
Saturday September 20 at the Paramount Theater: Downtown Seattle Rocks the Runway
You get it, right? Downtown Seattle retailers like Butch Blum, Nordstrom, and Mario's come together to show off their best fall looks. We helped make this show happen last year and it was a big, fat hit. We're counting on another sold-out event. (Read: don't sleep on ticket sales, okay?)
Wednesday, September 24 at the Bellevue Collection: the Independent Designer Runway Show
Speaking of sold-out fashion shows; over three years that the Bellevue Collection's Independent Designer Runway Show has mentoring and rewarding emerging Seattle talent, we've sure seen the local scene develop. You should be there to see it happen, too.
Do they all come complete with their own spin on snacks, beverages, shopping opportunities, and cool extras? You better believe it.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we get more details on all of the above and don't miss a big, big chance to win tickets to all three events.
