A new Elway poll shows that 50 percent of voters think Gov. Jay Inslee is doing an "only fair" or "poor" job while 43 percent think he's doing a "good" or "excellent" job (that's eight percent at "excellent" and 35 percent at "good"—and 36 percent saying "fair" and 14 percent saying "poor."
The numbers are consistent with where they've been throughout his term, which began in January 2013. Elway characterizes Inslee's latest approval rating as "Steady and underwater."
At this 18-month mark, Inslee is beating former Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire (she was at 41 percent), but far behind former Gov. Gary Locke, who was at 67 percent approval.
Here's the poll.
