First Look 2014: Event Design
Meet the top Seattle event gurus lined up for our wedding style extravaganza.
Helping put the "Look" in First Look 2014: Top Seattle event designers.
A big part of the July 10 event is reception style; the colors, flowers, table set-ups, and general party design.
So let's meet this event designers lined up (thus far!) for this year's Fremont Foundry show and celebration.
Valley and Co Events: We do love a husband and wife team, and Nick and Aleah are about as down-to-earth, hardworking, and talented as they come. Key words for these new parents and longtime collaborators: lush, luxe, and, somehow, laid-back at the same time. See the image above from their blog.
Lola Event Floral and Design: I first got wind of Emily Anderson back when she had a different last name and we ran her wedding in our Real Wedding pages. I often describe her style as narrative; she tells stories with local botanicals and earthy, innovative objects.
A Kurant Event: Megan Keller loves a party, and couples who love to party seem to find their way to her and together they stage seriously atypical events with an emphasis on fun—but not at the expense of look, feel, and picture perfection (see below). Just wait until you pick up a copy of our summer/fall 2014 issue—debuting at First Look—for more on an offbeat, super modern affair she's orchestrating this summer.
Kaleb Norman James Design: Somewhat new to the scene, this floral and event designer counts Nordstrom and Preston Bailey as line items on his bio. If soft, romantic, rustic, and European are among your key objectives, make sure you meet Kaleb at First Look.
Holly-Kate and Company: Possessing that rare combo talent of organization, innovation, and implementation, Holly-Kate Foss is a can-do lady with a stack of ideas and a pile of resources. I'd call her style contemporary; she's got a finger on the pulse of trends—but she knows how to twist them, and make them seem new and individualized. (See image below.)
Maris Events: Ever heard of a designing duo who also offer dance instruction? Now you have! Yes. Get ready for that. And get ready to check out the event design they did for the desserts feature in our brand new issue.
Jen Leslie Events: We're excited for Jen's sweetly elegant, spirited and fresh take on the modern/vintage vibe (see below).
Wonderstruck Events: Whereas so many event designers also offer floral services, Katie Aweida complements her party design with paper goods. In fact, we feature her letterpress invitations in our summer/fall issue. Make sure to check it out!
