Nosh Pit Weekly Planner: April 2-8
This week: a raw feast, a mezcal tasting, and an evening of boozy board games.
WEDNESDAY, April 2
Raw Dinner at Tilth
Chef Maria Hines will be serving up a six-course dinner at Tilth, displaying the benefits of raw food, and describing some techniques for raw cooking. The meal will cost $95 per person, or $140 with (also raw) wine pairings. An hors d’oeuvres reception will begin at 6 p.m. Call 206-633-0801 for a reservation, but do it fast — only 50 seats are available.
SATURDAY, April 5
Plate of Nations
Saturday is your last chance to get a $15 lunch or $25 dinner for two at participating Beacon Hill restaurants. Be sure to print out a “passport” on the Plate of Nations website to get stamped as you eat — eleven stamps could win you a private cooking class and lunch with Jose-Luis Pantigas of Huarachitos Cocina Mexicana (incidentally, the $25 dinner of chicken mole crepes sounds pretty outstanding).
Table Top Day at Backdoor at Roxy’s
This speakeasy bar in Fremont will be hosting a board game night in honor of International Table Top Day. Which is apparently a real thing. Promotional materials promise that “board games have come so, so far from Monopoly and Scrabble,” but taking Park Place while nursing a French 75 still sounds pretty good to us. Be sure to make a reservation, and the event will run from 5 to 9pm.
SUNDAY, April 6
Game of Thrones Viewing Parties
The show returns for a fourth season, and these two local bars are ready with viewing parties, Westeros-themed cocktails, and an actual iron throne.
MONDAY, April 7
Mezcaloteca Tasting Event at Mezcaleria Oaxaca
Expert mezcalera Andrea Hagan will be hosting a tasting at Capitol Hill’s new Mezcaleria Oaxaca on both Monday the 7th and Tuesday the 8th. Light snacks will be provided to soak up all that artisan mezcal. Tasting sessions will take place from 4-6 on both days. Each $50 session is limited to 24 people, so email email@example.com to reserve a spot.
