Shifts & Shakeups
This Week in Restaurant News: Watering Holes
Soda in Fremont, potpies in Wallingford, and a changeup on Broadway.
Mill Creek's bastion of sensational doughnuts has a major expansion in the works. In May, Frost will reopen in a larger space down the street with an expanded menu of cupcakes, soft-serve frozen custard, and an ice cream sundae that involves a doughnut.
Bluebird Goes Soda Shop in Fremont
The ice creamery is turning its Fremont location into a full-on soda shop, according to Eater Seattle. Front and center: a salvaged and restored 80-year-old soda fountain. Expect to be able to pull up a stool and order a snickerdoodle soda around the end of April.
Beer, wine, cocktails, and potpies are coming to Wallingford, via this new neighborhood bar. Check out the swanky signage (Electric Coffin), and the wines on tap (Proletariat).
The Box and Bottle
The partners behind the Blue Glass and Evolution Revolution food truck are opening a casual joint in Greenwood, according to PhinneyWood blog.
Potbelly Goes to Issaquah
The Chicago-based sandwich chain named for the stoves that reside in each of the shops is opening its seventh Washington location. The new shop, in Issaquah, is now hiring with plans to open on March 19.
