WEDNESDAY, March 12
Magic of Mycology Dinner
Join Maxime Bilet and mushroom mastermind Jehangir Mehta for a collaborative mushroom dinner at Bilet's Art for Food space. In addition to being chef-owner at NYC's Graffiti, Mehta is chef ambassador of the Mushroom Council, so one might say he knows a thing or two about the mycological arts. This eight-course $175 all-inclusive dinner includes the mushroom-Angus burger and modern interpretations of cream of mushroom soup. Also: wine, a gift bag, and some special surprises. THURSDAY, March 13
Drink and Draw at Capitol Cider
As the latest installment of its Feed All the Senses series, Capitol Cider is hosting Drink and Draw in the Ballast Bar downstairs starting at 7. Live models and free supplies will be there for your drawing convenience, along with professors from Gage Academy of Art dispensing guidance. Yes, the models will be clothed and no, stick figures are not allowed.
FRIDAY, March 14
Meet the Maker Wine Mixer
Meet Brennon Leighton, Charles Smith Wine winemaker (and one of our 50 most influential people last year) at this tasting event at Cast Iron Studios. Try up to ten different wines from Charles Smith and K Vintners along with appetizers from Purple Cafe. The tasting kicks off at 6 and costs $45 all-inclusive. SATURDAY, March 15
Delicatus Duck Dinner
Libations including a complimentary apertitif will be available starting at 6:30 followed by dinner. Chef Aaron Willis has created a menu that includes two preparations of duck along with other items. Reserve your spot online.
Prix Fixe at Laika Lounge
At night, Pioneer Square's Trabant Coffee and Chai morphs into a den of cocktails and artful Russian fare. The night's special menus kick off at 5pm; $40 gets you three courses that start with deviled eggs and a vodka shot (or coffee), move on to beef stroganoff with red wine or a cocktail, and finish with a shortbread made with dry-cured lemon curd and either a macchiato or saffron bellini. A three-course vegetarian option runs $35.
SUNDAY, March 16
Kiss My Grits Popup Brunch
This food truck in-the-making is coming back to Bloom Restaurant for another pop-up brunch before it makes its debut this summer. This time, Mike Guanlao is bringing you clam and corn chowder and smoked salmon along with fried cheesy grits. Two sessions of the brunch will be available at 11 and 1. Tickets are $25 and available for purchase online.
MONDAY, March 17
Lustau Sherry Dinner
Jason Stratton's Spanish spot Aragona is geeking out on sherry in its private dining room, along with Lucia Ramos of Europvin. Eight different sherry styles will be paired with dishes including pan-fried trout with salmorejo and hearts of palm salad. Dinner is $90 plus tax and gratuity and reservations can be made online or by calling 206-682-3590. Seating is limited.
TUESDAY, March 18
Matt’s in the Market and Big Table Farm Dinner
Matt’s in the Market and Big Table Farm are teaming up for a night of dining and drinking. Big Table owner-winemakers Brian Marcy and Clare Carver will be there showcasing the spring release wines and special bottles from the library. Matt's chef Shane Ryan has created a pairing menu for the evening including northwest oysters, Salish Sea halibut, and cheeses from Kurtwood Farm. Ivar’s 109th Birthday Deal
In celebration of the infamous northwest seafood chain’s founder Ivar Haglund and his would-be 109th birthday, the crew is creating a deal at all full-service restaurants. Get one entree and receive the second one for $1.09 all day long (most restaurants will have extended hours from 10-10:30). The first 109 customers will also receive a free slice of birthday cake. Triple Door Mix Madness
The bartenders’ competition continues in determining the summer’s cocktail list. This week, the bartenders’ battle it out using Tanqueray Gin in attempt to make the most favorable cocktail. Come to this spot from March 10–16 to try the cocktails out for $8 each.
Balinese Nasi Campur Feast
Come to Little Uncle in Pioneer Square on March 22 and get a load of traditional Balinese-inspired food at this popup. Delicatus’s chef Aaron Willis is partnering with its neighbor Little Uncle to create a menu with rich flavors including the traditional mixed rice dishes called Nasi Campur. Several other items featuring beef, chicken, tempeh, and more will be available for purchase. Cocktails begin at 7 and the dinner will be served around 7:30. The dinner is $35 per person plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made online.
