Draft beers, well drinks, and house wine are all under $5, or you can splurge (it’s Mardi Gras, right?) for the classic New Orleans cocktails the Hurricane or the Ramos Gin Fizz.

It’s hard to picture a cocktail more quintessentially Southern—with all its suggestions of humid climes and front porches—than the mint julep. Kickin’ Boot Whiskey Kitchen’s 3:30-6 and 10 to close happy hour menu serves up this cocktail for only $6. Keep the Fat Tuesday cuisine going with Wings Louisiana for $7.
This French Creole restaurant in Fremont, the progeny of the Where Ya At Matt food truck, has no traditional happy hour to speak of. But the newcomer just rolled out a new late night menu in time for your pre-Lenten festivities. From 10 to close, stop in for discounted drinks like $4-6 beers, $5 wines, $7 house cocktails, and starting March 3, Roux will be serving up $1 oysters, as well as hush puppies, frites, pig ear, mussels, and beignets. But if you can't wait until Tuesday, stop in on Sunday at 8:30 for local band Tubaluba's New Orleans version of "jambalaya brass pop."
Though you'd have to travel east from New Orleans to reach Witness's brand of southern hospitality, Witness’s daily 4-6 happy hour menu will keep you in the spirit of Mardi Gras with options like $6 buttermilk beignets and "Dixie poutine," a southern take on the French Canadian export with bacon gravy and melted pimento cheese over crispy fries. Wash it down with the $4 draft beer, $6 wine, or spring for that crown jewel in New Orleans cocktail tradition, the Sazerac.
